TPO — Program
The mission of the TPOProgram unit is to plan, support, and advance the IT
governance model and processes at UC Berkeley. The team works with
campus entities to ensure that campus demand and strategic priorities
are understood and that campus IT investment aligns with campus IT need.
Key Functions
- Facilitate the work of the Campus Technology Council (CTC).
- Maintain the campuswide IT Strategic Plan.
- Aggregate information about campus technology needs to inform supply planning.
- Manage projects that achieve the objectives of the CIO.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the collaboration of all components of campus IT
governance including the CTC, the Information Technology Architecture
Committee (ITAC), and the Campus Information Security and Privacy
Committee (CISPC).
- Perform outreach to the campus and beyond to foster understanding
and adoption of the IT governance model.
- Prepare for and facilitate CTC meetings.
- Provide support to Associate CIOs as they work with their
constituencies.
- Oversee the development of tools necessary to support the CTC's
work.
- Provide processes for the development and evaluation of IT
funding requests and subsequent IT Bank funding
recommendations.
- Manage the annual IT Funding Request process.
- Work with control units, departments, and like constituency
groups to understand strategic needs and the IT implications of
those needs.
- Foster a shared campus vision of strategic IT priorities.
- Maintain the campus IT Strategic Plan including the facilitation
of regular plan updates.
- Manage projects assigned by the CIO.
- Manage internal and external communications from the CIO.
- Represent the CIO on campus and systemwide committees.
